About

Laura Zager's practice centers on the preparation, prosecution, and evaluation of patents in both the U.S. and abroad, as well as counseling during intellectual property transactions and litigation. Her clients have included large corporate entities with extensive patent portfolios, medium-sized businesses just beginning to develop a patent portfolio, and solo or small teams of inventors looking to obtain their first patent.

Laura has assisted inventors with a wide variety of technologies, including mechanical and power electronic devices, data and network management, biomedical devices, medical diagnostics and bioinformatics, digital and analog electronics, algorithms, signal processing, computer security, outdoor and sportswear products, semiconductor processes and devices, media delivery and telecommunications. Her technical training includes electrical and computer engineering, bioinformatics, fluid and thermodynamics, process engineering, materials and mechanics, and her professional experience includes research and development in nanofabrication equipment, acoustics, and communications for defense and security applications.

Laura is active in a number of legal and technical organizations, including the Electronics Manufacturers Association of Oregon, IEEE (Senior Member), the Society of Women Engineers, and the Oregon State Bar Technology Law Section.
